Chrome Remote Desktop Application

Chrome Remote Desktop allows you to set up your computer for secure remote access. This includes setting up your computer so that you can access it later from another machine, for example, when you need to access your home computer from your office computer. Or you can also use the app to let a friend remotely access your computer temporarily, perfect for times when you need help solving a computer problem.

The ability to give remote access to the technical expert may help you to resolve technical issues with your computer much faster and much more efficient. Troubleshooting customer issues, I know how it may be misleading to give instructions over the phone, and how much time it takes to reach the desirable goals.

All connections are fully secured, but the Chome browser should be installed on both machines to enable direct dialog.

Chrome Remote Desktop is fully cross-platform.  It provides remote assistance to Windows, Mac and Linux users, accessing Windows (XP and above) and Mac (OS X 10.6 and above) desktops at any time, all from the Chrome browser on virtually any device, including Chromebooks.

Add the Chrome Remote Desktop app to Chrome

In order to start using the Chrome Remote Desktop app in any of the applicable modes, you need to install it on every computer you want to access remotely and every computer you'd like to connect from.
1. Visit the Chrome Remote Desktop app page in the Chrome Web Store.
2. Click Add to Chrome to install the app.
3. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Add.

Once the app has been added, a new tab will open and the app's icon will appear in the Apps section of the page. If you're using a Chrome device, you can find the app in the apps list.

When you open Chrome Remote Desktop app for the first time, you’ll be asked to authorize it to take the following actions:
* See your email address
* See your Chrome Remote Desktop computers
* Receive and send chat messages (this is how we get the two computers to “talk” to each other)
* Perform these actions while you're not using the application (for when you want to access your own computer remotely)

* Click Yes to install the Chrome Remote Host Service. The host service will be downloaded and installed automatically.
* A confirmation box appears, confirm the Google Account and enter the PIN again to continue.
* The computer you enabled shows up under “My Computers”.

Great blog! Lots of cool free apps and things here. I work for a new social blogging site called glipho.com, and was just wondering if you would be interested in sharing your posts there with us? It wouldn't change your blog at all, and I know our community would love to read through your work here. Let me know what you think!

All the best,

Teo
