SocialMeter is a handy small Web2 online application designed for checking to see how many people have tagged an URL in any of a number of social bookmarking services. It was created by Brian Holt, of San Diego.
Social meter scans the major social websites to analyze a webpage’s social popularity. Currently, the list of sites included in the scan: Del.icio.us, Digg, Furl, Google, Jots, Linkroll, Netscape, Reddit, Shadows, Spurl, Technorati, and Yahoo My Web.
If you are interesting in continuous monitoring all web sites you visit on your surfing way, you may install a bookmarklet in your browser. The bookmarklet is a button that will show the socialmeter scores for whatever site you are visiting when you click it. To add the bookmarklet to your browser, just drag the link {socialmeter}into your browser’s toolbar from the bookmarklet page.
